“No. He knows things.”
“We can’t tell him.”
“No. He mustn’t know.”
“But won’t he know this too?”
“Yes, but we cannot confirm it.”
“But he will know it, in his nerves.”
“And he will hate us for it.”
“He won’t hate us.”
“Why not?”
“He knows.”
“He knows what?”
“That he’s not like the other children.”
