Card for the Moment: Temperance, Sagittarius, “Daughter of the Reconcilers.” Transmutation through the union of opposites, perfect marriage, the scientific method, success after complex maneuvers. Temperance is one of the angel cards and it is also one of the alchemical cards. It carries a lot of energy. Opposites are drawn to each other. It is basic magnetism. But when the opposites meet, they both are changed. It is the angel’s task to manage the transformation. Is this “the Holy Guardian Angel,” “The Higher Self”? I think so.

The alchemy of the card is in the union of opposites – shadow and ego, consciousness and unconsciousness, reality versus dreams. The angel blocks the road to Kether signifying that we must pass through this stage for further spiritual/magickal evolution.

On the practical level, temperance or moderation is just a good practice. In drinks, drugs or sex, moderation is a good approach. Temperance may be telling you to ease up on the drink or the smoke. Maybe give your love interest a little space to breathe. Get some balance into your life. What needs transformation in your life right now?
