11/14/21 = 10 = The Wheel of Fortune
When it’s time to go,
you saddle up your horse
and ride off into the sunset.
Don’t delay it or drag it out.
Don’t make it awkward.
Make it quick and surgical
like a samurai sword.
Make it beautiful and heartbreaking,
like Clark Gable exiting stage right
for the last time, “Frankly, my dear,
I don’t give a damn.”
Cut the ties; sever the thread.
Learn what it means to be gone,
really gone, gone gosling,
yesterday’s news,
someone else’s problem,
someone else’s dream.
You’re out on the edge of the highway
like a ghost, and you feel
the weight of the world drop away.
